Short card and long card fall together as a single card. Riffling either forward or backward allows the entire deck to look like it’s completely changed.
(Note: Your deck may be opposite colored.)
When catching the cards, my receiving hand is tilted forward so they will rest against my index finger to help prevent separation. It does take practice to keep separation to a minimum.
